Bolt in 3-D

I just got back from seeing Bolt for the fourth time, but my first time in 3D. This has quickly become one of my favorite movie beside the Lion King. The story is good, the animation is great, the voice actors are top-notch, and even the music is well done. I really love Bolt as the action hero. I really hope they make a prequel or a tv series. The actions stuff is really breathtaking. The rest of the story is cute too. I just wish they hadn't gone for the ending they did. Oh well. This movie is so much better in 3D.

I remember seeing Beowulf in 3D. The movie was very blah, but I spent the whole movie looking at all of the layers in 3D. That kept me distracted for the whole movie. The thing about the 3D in Beowulf though was that the layers were very flat and defined. You could look back in the image, but you would be met with another flat layer.

Bolt completely breaks away from the flat 3D layers and shows a smooth transition of depth and field. It was absolutely awesome. There were some obvious in-your-face shots, but just the general depth and feel of the settings and the characters put it over the top. It never feels like you watching some cheesy effect, it just looks and feels natural. I'll probably go see it again in 3D just to enjoy the breadth of the experience. If anyone hasn't seen Bolt yet, go see in in 3D. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

The Golden Compass

I was very pleased to see just how well this movie turned out. The story and plot are meant for older children, but the anthropomorphic creatures will definitely be love by furries. What's not to like, your spirit animal can change from an insect to a mouse to a bird to a cat to whatever...
The CGI is beautifully done and the animals all speak with great voice actors. Every person in the movie has an animal spirit with them, so some scenes are just layered with animals of every shape and size. It is so beautiful and the animals have such animalistic characteristics. I really enjoyed this movie. I can't wait to own it so I can really delve into all the layers of animals in some of the scenes. The world is also very well created and very fanciful. The polar bears are definitely a great part of the movie and their interaction is very fierce. I would recommend this movie to everyone, especially in the fandom. Just loved it. I may have to go see it in the theatre again.

I was remembering some of my favorite cartoons. Different language just for fun.

Or you can rock out with this guy!

So I was in the middle of a live performance yesterday when I noticed a group of people sitting in the front row. Now I am absolutely horrible with remembering people, especially when I have only seen them once or twice. As the performance neared the end, I asked one of the other people on stage, who usually knows everyone, who they were. They had no idea. Now this really had me curious. Where had I possibly seen or met these people before. Then it hit me.

Sitting in the front row was Dex, Jess, Ronin and a few other furries. I was completely floored and surprised. I quickly left the stage to go chat with them. It was great getting a chance to talk with them any maybe make their experience a bit more memorable. It really made my day. They were all very nice and social.

Now I have to keep a sharper eye to the audience. Usually I just go through the rhythm of the show and don't really focus too much into what is going on beyond the stage. Now I have even more of a reason to look into the ocean of faces to see if I can spot some more friends.

I have been noticing an odd phenomenon recently and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I rarely listen to the radio since I hate listening to most talk radio and commercials, but I can't avoid it when I go out shopping. So I'll be browsing to find what I need to get and in the background I will notice one of my favorite songs starting to play. This could happen often enough if I listened to the radio that much, but I don't. Whats more, the genre of music that the station is playing and what I want to hear are often quite different. For instance, one of my favorite classic 80s country songs will suddenly start playing on a pop station.

For a while, I started to think that this was just a wonderful coincidence, but it keeps happening almost every time I go out. I'll be thinking that I'd love to hear _that_ song again and wonder if I should add it to my playlist at home. Then I forget about it and days or weeks later go out shopping and hear it playing on the radio. Quantum Physics anyone? Are my thoughts of these songs often enough causing them to play when I'm listening to the radio? Or am I just zoning out all other music and listening till I hear a song that I want to listen to?

Hmm. What do I want to hear next? I usually only get 1 song per outing and I do not have that many songs I want to hear.
